The Way of Love

I’ve been reading and thinking a lot lately about love.  While none of this is new, I thought I’d share some of what I’ve been meditating on with you:

Love has no fear.

Love is patient.

Love is kind.

Love isn’t selfish.

Love is true.

Love is honest.

Love doesn’t keep score.

Love endures all.

Love is the most powerful force out there.

Love doesn’t ever fail.

Now a lot of times we hear people talking about love.  We hear about how much they love this and how much they love that.  Then we see that love break down.  I often wonder what happens.  Where does all the love go?  Maybe the love is still there, but the love goes away in the actions.  Maybe the love is tainted or pushed away by the presence of fear, selfishness, and dishonesty.  Whatever it is, it isn’t the love that failed.  It was those other things that we let win.

The way of love remains the same.  I think its just us who don’t always allow it’s true beauty and power to manifest.  But what would happen if we did?  I think we’d be unstoppable.  I think life would be great.  I think we’d be more disciplined.  I think we’d be more free.  I think that we could change the world.  That’s the way of true love.

So what about you?  Are you giving and experiencing true love?  Or are you letting those other things win out?
